Elde edilen sonuçlar hasta ve kontrol grubunda sırasıyla GSH17.20±2.11, 25.39±3.62 (mg/dl); MDA 2.68$pm$0.15, 1,27$pm$0.19 (nmol/ml); nitrat 7,09$pm$0.50, 4.83$pm$0.21 (mg/l), nitrit 2.81$pm$0.22, 1.44$pm$0.03 (mg/l), vitamin E 1.08$pm$0.18, 1,59+$pm$0,22 (mg/dl), vitamin C 1.48+$pm$0.11, 1.45İ0.08 (mg/dl); $beta$-karoten 48,97±0.39, 57.59$pm$1.74($mu$g/dl), retinol 217.22$pm$23.54, 220.28$pm$13.19 ($mu$g/dl) olarak bulundu.Buna göre, hastalarda MDA nın (p

Abstract

In the region of Van, ovine babesiosis is an important parasitic disease which appears in the summer. In this study, the effect of babesiosis on concentrations of MDA produced in lipid peroxidation and on antioxidant compounds, such as GSH, $beta$-carotene, retinol, vitamin C, vitamin E, as well as on the production of nitric oxide oxidation (nitrate, nitrite) was investigated. Twenty sheep infected with babesiosis and eight healthy sheep (control group) were used. These parameters were determined spectrophotpmetrically ,in the sheep blood. The results obtained from the infected and control groups were, respectively, as follows; GSH 17,20$pm$2.11, ,25.39$pm$3.62 (mg/dl); MDA 2.68±0.15 1.27 $pm$0.19 (nmol/ml): nitrate 7.09$pm$0.50, 4.83±0.21 (mg/1), nitrite 2.81±0.22, 1.44±0.03 (mg/1), Vitamin E 1.08±0.18, 1.59+.0.22 (mg/dl), vitamin C 1.48±0.11, 1.45±0,08 (mg/dl); $beta$-carotene 48.97$pm$0.39, 57.59±1.74 ($mu$g/dl) and retinol 217.22±23.54, 220.28±13.19 ($mu$g/dl). According to the results, the concentrations of MDA (p
