Abstract

In this study, the feeding habits according to the stomach content, endoparasites, and ectoparasites of 89 adult frogs (38 females, 51 males) collected from Lake Eğirdir, monthly, were investigated. The results indicate that the food is composed of insects (63.18%), Crustacea (24.55%); Myriapoda (0.12%); Gastropoda (6.26%); Osteichthyes (5.77%) and Amphibia (0.12%). During the parasitological investigations, 'Pleurogenes claviger, Diplodiscus subclavatus, Bucephalus polymorphus of the Plathelminthes; Acanthocephalus ranae of the Acanthocephala; Rhabdias bufonis of the Nematoda and the juvenile forms of Hirudo medicinalis of the Hirudinea were seen. Of these parasites, B. polymorphus which is a typical carnivore fish parasite was seen in the digestive system of R, ridibunda. This is the first report of this type of parasitic development and cycles.
