Abstract

In this study, metazoan parasites of pike (Esox lucius L.) and rudd (Scardinius erythropthalmus L.) from the Bayramdere Lagoon were investigated between February 1997 and December 1998. Parasites belonging to five species were recorded: 756 Dactylogyrus difformis (30.7%, 189 parasites/fish) and 2 Diplozoon sp. (7.6%, 2 parasites/fish) (Monogenea, Plathelminthes), on the gills of S. erythropthalmus in June-98, 2 Contracaecum sp. (Anisakidae, Nematoda) (7.6%, 2 parasites/fish) in the body cavity of only one 1 rudd fish specimen in July-97. On the other hand, there were 54 Ergasilus sieboldi (Copepoda, Arthropoda) (%26.3, 10.8 parasites/fish) on the gills of pike from October 1997 to February 1998 and 4 Raphidascaris acus Bloch, 1779 (Anisakidae, Nematoda) (15.7%, 1.3 parasite/fish) in the intestines of 3 pike specimens from February - March 1998.
