Özet

Sudan'ın batısındaki Nuba dağında yer alan Yeşil Vadi köyünde leishmaniasis üzerindeki longitudinal çalışmalar esnasında subklinik olguların saptanmasında bir epidemiyolojik yöntem olarak "leishmanin deri testi" (LST) uygulanmıştır. Deri testi Ağustos 1995, Şubat 1996 ve Ekim 1996 tarihlerindeki saha ziyaretlerinde kullanılmıştır. Test bütün köylülere (toplam 332) uygulanmıştır. Negatif deri testi sonucu alınanlara bir sonraki ziyarette tekrar deri testi uygulanmıştır. Üç farklı zamandaki uygulama sonrasında sırasıyla %43,6, %45,7 ve %51,2 oranlarında pozitif sonuç alınmıştır.Giderek artan oranların elde edilmesi sürekli bulaşım olduğunun bir göstergesi olabileceği düşünülmektedir.

Abstract

During the longitudinal epidemiological study on leishmaniasis conducted in the Green Valley village in Nuba Mountain west of Sudan, the leishmanin skin test (LST) was assessed as an epidemiological tool in a sub-clinical focus of leishmaniasis in Sudan. Consecutive leishmanin skin tests were used during the field visits in Ag. 95, Feb. 96 and Oct. 96. The test was performed on all the villagers (a total of 332). During the last two consecutive visits, the test was performed on those who had negative LST results. The results were as follows: 43.6%, 45.7% and 51.2%. These subsequently increasing rates might indicate continuous transmission.
