Özet

Bu çalışmada Orbitoides gruenbachensis Papp'ın morfolojik özellikleri ile Maastrihtiyen (Geç Kretase) Tesis Okyanusu'ndaki yayılımı değerlendirilmiştir. İlk kez Avusturya'da bulunmuş olan türün, -Türkiye'de Orta ve Batı Pontid'ler ile Helenid-Torid platformunun kuzey kenarlarında gözlenmiş olması mekanda sınırlı bir dağılıma sahip olduğunu ve çok sıcak olmayan, az tuzlu sığ suları tercih ettiğini göstermektedir. Yine, gerek Avusturya ve gerekse Türkiye'de Maastrihtiyen çökellerinde yaygınlığı da Orbitoides gruenbachensis Papp'ın sınırlı bir zaman aralığında yaşadığını işaret etmektedir.

Abstract

In this study, paleo geographical distribution and morphological features of Orbitoides gruenbachensis Papp in Tethyan Ocean is presented. The indicated species was found first time in A ustria The occurrence of Orbitoides gruenbachensis Papp in the Middle and Western parts of the Pontids and the northern part of the Helenid-Torid platforms indicates that the mentioned species lived in a restricted area and preferred a shallow paleoenvironment having low salinity and temperature. Besides, its appearance in the Maastrichtian deposits both A ustria and Turkey also shows that its range has a resticted time.
