KAF DAĞI’NIN ETEĞİNDE BİR ALMAN KOLONİSİ: KARS ALMANLARI

Özet

1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus Savaşı’ndan sonra Kars ve çevresinin Rusların eline geçmesiyle birlikte bölgeye yerleşen Almanlar, sınırlı sayılarına rağmen şehrin tarihi ve kültüründe özel bir yer edinmeyi başarabilmişlerdir. Rus idaresi altındaki 40 yıllık dönemde Kars’ta giderek sayıları artan gayrimüslim nüfus yardımıyla gelişen tarım ve hayvancılık faaliyetlerinde, özellikle de süt ve süt ürünleri üretiminde Almanların önemli bir payı olmuştur. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Kars’ın Rus hâkimiyetine girmesinden sonra bölgenin Müslümanlar aleyhine değişen nüfus yapısı çerçevesinde buraya yerleşen Almanların şehrin ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel hayatına etkisini Malakanlar ve Duhoborlar gibi Rus sektantlarıyla karşılaştırmalı bir perspektiften çözümlemeye tabi tutmaktır.

Abstract

The Germans who settled in Kars and in its neighborhood following the Russian invasion of the region after the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878 were, despite their low figure, able to play an important role in the history and culture of this city. Germans and other non-Muslims whose figure was increasing constantly during the 40 years Russian rule contributed to the agricultural development and cattle breeding of the region especially regarding dairy products. The aim of this study is to show the impact of the Germans who settled in Kars on the economic, social and cultural life of the city after the Russian invasion of the region regarding the Russian sektants such as Molakans and Dukhobors within the framework of disadvantaged figure of the Muslim community in a comparative perspective.
