Abstract
Tenosynovitis secondary to nontuberculous mycobacterium is seen rarely in an immunocompetent host. The flexor tendons of the fingers, wrist and forearm are frequently affected sites. Mycobacterial infection must be included in the differential diagnosis of chronic swelling of the wrist and fingers in order to prevent inappropriate surgery. In this case report, we present a patient complaining of intermittent attacks of tenosynovitis who received multiple synovectomy operations due to misdiagnosis and mistreatment.
