Abstract
Abstract: Isolation and identification of entomopathogenic fungi from wheat fields invillages located near KahramanmaraĢ city center were performed in this study. Insectassociated fungi in soil were isolated by baiting soil samples with larvae of Galleriamellonella. 62 isolates were identified as Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuill., 84 isolates as Aspergillus flavus (Linn), 75 isolates as Fusarium spp . and 10 isolates as Penicillium sp. in2010 and 2011. Six fungal isolates belonging to the genus Beauveria (Kapıçam 2010.C,Kapıçam 2010.E, Kürtül 2010.C, Kürtül 2010.E, Önsen 2010.A, Önsen 2010.B) and threefungal isolates belonging to the genus Aspergillus (Aksu 2010.C, Kılavuzlu 2010.C, Kürtül2010.B) were tested against 4 th and 5th instars of G. mellonella at a concentration of 1000c onidia /mm2 . The experiment was replicated three times at 25 ± 2o C and 60±5% relativehumidity. Kapıçam 2010.C, Kapıçam 2010.E, Kürtül 2010.C, Kürtül 2010.E, Önsen2010.A and Önsen 2010.B isolates caused 100% infections. Aksu 2010.C, Kılavuzlu2010.C and Kürtül 2010.B isolates caused finfection and sporulation in at 60%, 45% and41% of the larvae , respectively. The results indicated that the isolates belonging to thegenus Beauveria are highly pathogenic to G. mellonella larvae
