Abstract
Abstract: One of the basic principles of IPM is using no pesticides or harmlesspesticides, especially against potential biological control agents. The side effects of fourplant protection products, emamectin benzoate, kresoxim-methyl+boscalid, abamectin anddimethoate (toxic standard), were evaluated on Nesidiocoris tenuis under the guidelines ofthe IOBC/WPRS Working group, namelyPesticides and Beneficial Organisms .Kresoxim-methyl+boscalid showed moderately low toxicity (2.5% - 7.5%) at 24 and 48hours after pesticide application which indicates that it can be safely used in IPMgreenhouses with N. tenuis populations. Emamectin benzoate was moderately toxic (74.4%- 78.5%) while abamectin (100%) and dimethoate (100%) were toxic. These laboratoryresults need to be verified with field or semi-field experiments before specific advice can beprovided to the public.
