Abstract

Methods: A standardized questionnaire was used to evaluate 135 women using NET-EN/EV. The questionnaire consisted of 29 closed-ended questions. The data collected was analyzed using the x2 test using SPSS-9.0 for Windows statistics programme. Results: The most frequent reason for preferring this method was reliability (47%). The most common bleeding problem was spotting (27%). Spotting was also the most frequent complaint and side effect (13%). The discontinuation rate for NET-EN/EV injections was 41 % whereas the continuation rate was 59%. The most common reason for discontinuation was planning to concieve (39%). There was a positive correlation between spotting and discontinuing the method (p
