A common story getting around the anatolia: the foundation of the country hospitals and the alteration process of the konya country hospital

Abstract

The country hospitals as a common story getting around the Anatolia fulfilled the requirements of the society in health area by hosting and being witness to the developments in our country in this area. These hospitals, mostly one- floored and serving with a few doctors and health staff, were physically expanded in time and service quality changed as parallel to the developments in every area. Today it is questionable for these buildings to be used in health area as they have a life time of an era from the date of their construction. Konya Country Hospital has completed its time to serve in health area. In the existing hospital site, the buildings completed their lives were destroyed and a new hospital design is made considering the existence of old hospitals to be protected. In this study the foundation Country Hospitals and change process of Konya Country Hospital are handled and new design is evaluated.
