Özet

Nötrofillerin spesifik granüllerinde bulunan laktoferrinin (Lf) glikozaminoglikanlara bağlanma özelliği ve in vitro koşullarda heparinin antikoagıılan aktivitesinin inhibitörü olduğu gösterilmiş ve bu neden-le dissémine intravasküler koagulopatinin (DIC) etyopatogenezinde rol oynayabileceği ileri sürülmüştür. Çalışmamızda DIC (N=14), lökomoid reaksiyon (LR) (N=Il), nötropenik ateş (NA) (N=18) olan hasta-larda ve sağlıklı kontrollerde (N=IO)plazma Lf düzeyleri çalışıldı. DIC grubunda Lf düzeyi median 560 ng/ml iken, kontrol grubunda median 300 ng/ml bulundu (p>0,05).

Abstract

Lactoferrin (Lf) is one of the specific granule substances of polymorphonudear leukocytes and has been reported to have glycosaminogly can binding activity and in vitro heparin binding properties. These find-ings suggest a possible role of Lf in the etiopathogenesis of disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). In this study, plasma Lf levels were investigated in patients with DIC (N= 14), leukomoid reaction (LR) (N=Il) and febrile neutropenla (FN) (N= 18) and in healthy volunteers (N=IO). Although median plas-ma levels of Lf was found to be higher (median 560 ng/ml) in the DIC group as compared to those of control group (median 300 ng/ml), no statistically significant difference was noted among these groups. When the patients in the DIC group are subdivided in neutropenic and non-neutropenic groups, the non-neutropenic DIC group showed significantly higher levels of Lf (median 840 ng/ml) than the con-trol group (p
