Abstract

it is a rare phenomenon to detect the second malignancy in the course of malignant disease. The risk of secondary malignancy in CLL patients is significantly higher than normal population. Also, CLL can be detected as secondary malignancy in the course of other malignant diseases. in such cases, the common ethiological agent can be consid-ered. in this report, we present a case who was diagnosed as breast cancer in 1996. After surgical resection, the patient was treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. During the follow-up period, lymphocytosis in peripheral blood and mature lymphocyte infiltration in bone marrow was detected in 1998 and was diagnosed as CLL with the coexistence of breast cancer. The patient died because of multiorgan failure and multiple metastasis including bone marrow in 2000.
