Özet

Giriş: Yaşlanma sürecinde oluşan sensorinöral (S/N) işitme kaybına “presbiakuzi” denir (1,2). Presbiakuzinin patolojik temeli kısmen anlaşılabilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı presbiakuziyle ortaya çıkan değişiklikleri, presbiakuzinin patolojik lokalizasyonunu, periferik ve santral işitsel yolların bozulmasını; saf ses odyometrisi, konuşma odyometrisi, distorsiyon ürünü otoakustik emisyon (DPOAE), beyin sapı odyometrisi (İşitsel Beyin Sapı Cevapları, ABR) kullanarak, değerlendirmek ve belirlemektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Kliniğimize başvuran 40 presbiakuzili hasta çalışma kapsamına alındı. Hastaların işitmeleri odyoloji ünitesi'nde saf ses odyometrisi, konuşma odyometrisi, DPOAE ve ABR kayıtları yapılarak değerlendirildi.Bulgular: Elde ettiğimiz bulgulara göre yaşın artmasıyla birlikte saf ses odyometride elde edilen saf ses ortalaması (SSO) ve konuşmayı alma eşiğin (KAE)'de anlamlı düzeyde (p

Abstract

Introduction: “Presbycusis” is the sensorineural hearing loss accompanying the aging process (1,2). The pathologic basis of presbycusis is partially understood. The aim of this study is to evaluate the changes of peripheral and central auditory pathways in presbycusis and to localise the pathology by using pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE), and auditory brainstem responses (ABR).Materials and Method: Forty patients with presbycusis, who applied to our clinic, were included in the study. Pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) results and auditory brainstem responses were recorded to evaluate hearing loss. Results: Our findings demonstrated that pure tone average and speech reception threshold values significantly increased (p
