Ötüken ve Ötüken adı üzerine

Özet

Bu makalede, Ötüken’in yeri belirlendikten sonra, burasının kutsiyeti ve bu kutsiyetin sebepleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Ötüken adının Moğollarda Yer Tanrısı ve kadın Şaman demek olan ‘Etugen’ ile ilgili olmadığı, bu adın, Türkçe’de ‘dua, rica, talep’ anlamlarına gelen ‘ötü’ kelimesine, Doğu Türklerinde ‘şehir’ anlamına gelen ‘ken’ ekinin ilâve edilmesiyle kurulduğu, bunun manasının da ‘dua şehri/dua edilen şehir’ anlamında olduğu, ‘Ötüken Yış’ın ise ‘Yeşil Ötüken’ demek olduğu savunulmuş ve önerilmiştir.

Abstract
