Abstract

The period of Seljuks is quite significant in terms of the formation and development of Turko-Islamic culture. The period of Seljuks, which star- ted the process of making Anatolia a Muslim-Turk land as a result of the War of Malazgirt in 1071 and which decorated many places of Anatolia with the motifs and patterns of Islam during this process, is very impor- tant in terms of our history of culture. In this context, mawlid ceremonies, which are the manifestations of the love of the Prophet, were organized for the first time in the period of Seljuks both formally and informally in the same form as we do today. In this paper, mawlid ceremonies held in the period of Seljuks are dealt with.
