Trabzon has an important role in trade as much as political history. This prominent port city in East of the Black Sea, constituted mainly part of commercial connections Far-East, Central Asia, Iran and Armenians in the Middle Ages. This centerwas a gate opening to the west and also the Greek country of traders. In this direction, Trabzon had commercial con- tact with, Greece, Chios, Euboea -Istanbul and Sivas. This city was a re- sort to merchants from Sugdak by north, south Russia, Baghdad, Mosul and the Syrian in the south. Accordingly, it should be seen that Trabzon was an international significant trade center in which land and sea trade caravans meet in the Middle Ages.
