Özet

İstanbul, tarihi hüviyeti ve coğrafi konumu ile Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun yalnızca yönetim merkezi olmakla kalmamış, aynı zamanda imparatorluğun ihtişam ve büyüklüğünün bir simgesi olmuştur. Sarayın, ordunun ve halkın iaşesi demek olan İstanbul'un iaşesinin sağlanması, devlet yöneticilerince mühim işlerin en mühimi olarak görülmüştür. Bu mühim işin aksamadan yürümesi için de çeşitli tedbir ve önlemler alınmıştır. Taşıma maliyetlerinin yüksek olduğu devirlerde İstanbul'a iaşe ve malzeme ikmali öncelikle Rumeli Bölgesi'nden sağlanmıştır. Vize Sancağı, İstanbul Boğazı'nın batı kıyılarından başlayarak Trakya içlerine kadar yayılan geniş bir bölge üzerinde kurulmuştur. Bu nedenle de İstanbul'un iaşesinde önemli bir paya sahiptir. Çalışmamızda İstanbul'un iaşe ve malzeme ikmalinde Vize Sancağı'nın yerinin ne olduğu araştırılarak bu iaşenin boyutları ve nevileri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır

Abstract

Istanbul with its historical significance and geographical position was not only the administrative center of the empire but also was a symbol of magnificence and greatness. Supply of the palace, military and public was considered ad the most primary business among the other important tasks. There were number of measures and actions for possible failures. Originally, in the early period the supply of Istanbul was provided from western provinces namely from Rumelia. The province Vize was established in a wide region starting from west coast of Istanbul strait to the inner of Thrace. For this reason Vize has a significant share for the supply of Istanbul. In this work, we try to search and analyze the place and importance of the Province Vize in the food supply and replenishment of material of Istanbul. It also tried to analyze the size, dimension and variety of this supply.
