1993-1998 yılları arasında saptadığımız sifilizli olguların değerlendirilmesi

Özet
1 Ocak 1993-31 Aralık 1998 tarihleri arasındaki 6 yıllık dönemde Haseki Hastanesi Dermatoloji Polikliniğinde sifiliz tanısı konan toplam 278 olgu yaş, cinsiyet,medeni hal ve klinik bulgularına göre değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma grubumuzda sifilizin cinsel aktif yaşta, erkeklerde ve evli kişilerde daha sık görüldüğü saptanmıştır. Hastalarımızın %29.8' i 1. devir sifiliz, %47.6' sı 2. devir sifiliz, %21.8'i latent sifiliz, %0.4' ü 3. devir sifiliz, %0.4' ü erken doğumsal sifiliz olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca son 6 yıl süresince çeşitli nedenlerle hastanemiz dermatoloji polikliniğine başvuran hasta grubunda sifiliz prevalansı yıllar arasında önemli ölçüde bir değişiklik göstermemiştir.
Abstract
Background and design: Syphilis still remains as an important infectious disease worldwide. In order to determine the incidence of syphilis a retrospective study was done. Materials and methods: In a period of six years between 1.1.93-31.12.98 278 syphilitic patients were evaluated for their age, gender, marrital status and clinical findings. Results: In this study group, majority of the cases were male, married and in the sexually active age group. Of these patients 29.8% were at the primary stage, 47.6% were at the secondary stage, 27.8% were at the latent stage, 0.4% were at the tertiary stage and 0.4% were evaluated as the early congenital syphilis. Conclusion: The number of newly diagnosed patients admitting to our outpatient clinic remained relatively stable over the last years.
