Özet
65 yaşındaki erkek olguya larinks kanseri nedeniyle total larenjektomi ve boyun diseksiyonu ameliyatı planlandı. Preoperatif laboratuvar incelemesinde 23.400 (mm3)-1 trombosit sayısından başka bir anormallik yoktu. Olgunun anamnezinde kolay morarma ve kanama yoktu. Yaymada çok sayıda kümelenmiş trombositler görüldü. Bunun üzerine heparinli tüpe yeni bir kan örneği alındı. Trombositler 282.000 (mm3)-1 olarak sayıldı.Bu olgu sunumunda EDTA (Etilen diamino tetraasetik asit)'ya bağlı düşük trombosit sayısına sahip bir hasta sunuldu. Anestezistler ve cerrahlar psödotrombositopeni etiyolojisinden haberdar olmalıdırlar.
Abstract
Total laryngectomy and radical neck dissection were planned in a 65 year old man with laryngeal carcinoma. Preoperative laboratory evaluation was unremarkable except for a platelet count of 23.400 (mm3)-1. His history was negative for easy bruising or haemorrhage. A peripheric blood smear was done and revealed multiple clumps of platelets attached to neutrophils. A seperate blood specimen was drawn in a heparin containing vacutainer. Analysis of this specimen revelaed a platelet count of 282.000 (mm3)-1.In this case report, a patient with a low platelet count due to EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) acid is presented.
