Özet

Osmanlı Devleti on altıncı yüzyıldan itibaren Avrupa ülkeleri ile ticari ve diplomatik ilişkilerigeliştirmek maksadıyla kültürel etkileşim içinde olmuştur. Osmanlı Devleti ve Avrupa ülkeleri arasındaki bukültürel ilişkinin bir parçası olarak Batı müziğine olan ilgi ve merak gelecekte birçok kurumun temellerininatılması açısından önemlidir. Osmanlı topraklarında Batı müziği ile ilk tanışma on altıncı yüzyılda KanuniSultan Süleyman döneminde başlar. Sonrasında III. Murad, III. Mehmed, IV. Murad, IV. Mehmed, III.Ahmed, I. Mahmud, III. Mustafa, III. Selim, II. Mahmud, Abdülmecit, V. Murad, II. Abdülhamid, MehmedReşad ve Mehmed Vahdeddin gibi padişahların bir vesileyle Batı müziğiyle tanışması, ilgi ve merakı tarihselaraştırmalarda görülmektedir. Bu dönemlerde pek çok Batı çalgısı çeşitli yollarla Osmanlı topraklarınagirmiştir. On altıncı yüzyılda Avrupa müzik kültüründe kendine büyük yer bulan flüt ise bu çalgılardanbiridir. Bu çalışmada on sekizinci yüzyılda Osmanlı dönemi batılılaşma sürecinde flüt çalgısının yeri veönemine ilişkin bulgular tarihsel çerçevede ele alınmıştır. On sekizinci yüzyılın başlarında Osmanlıdöneminde flüt çalgısının ilk izleri olarak görülen Fransız flütçü Buffardin’in İstanbul’u ziyareti, II. Mahmudzamanında Muzika-i Hümayun’un başına getirtilen İtalyan flütçü ve bando şefi Giuseppe Donizetti, ilk Türkflüt virtüözü ve orkestra şefi olarak kabul gören Saffet Atabinen’in flüt eğitimi ve icrasına yönelik katkılarıaraştırılmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın evrenini Osmanlı Dönemi’nde müzikte batılılaşma süreci,örneklemini ise iki önemli flütçü Giuseppe Donizetti ve Saffet Atabinen oluşturmaktadır. Batılılaşmasürecinde Giuseppe Donizetti ve Saffet Atabinen’in çalışmaları ve bu bağlamda flütün Osmanlıtopraklarındaki işlevini tespit etmek amaçlanmış olup; çalışma literatüre katkı sağlaması açısından önemlidir.Bu çalışma genel tarama yöntemi ile araştırılmış ve durum tespitine dayalı betimsel modeldegerçekleştirilmiştir.

Abstract

Starting from the sixteenth century, Ottoman Empire was involved in cultural interactions withEuropean states to improve commercial and diplomatic relations. As part of this cultural relation between theOttoman Empire and European states, the interest and curiosity towards Western music is important as ithelped laying the foundations of many institutions in future. First introduction of Western music in Ottomanland started in sixteenth century under the rule of Suleiman the magnificent. Then emperors such as MuradIII, Mehmed III, Murad IV, Mehmed IV, Ahmed III, Mahmud I, Mustafa III, Selim III, Mahmud II,Abdülmecit, Murad V, Abdülhamid II, Mehmed Resad and Mehmed Vahdeddin were all somehowintroduced to Western music and their interest in it can be seen in various historic studies. During this period,many Western instruments entered Ottoman lands in various ways. Flute, which found a great place inEuropean music culture in the sixteenth century, is one of these instruments. In this study, the findings regarding the place and importance of the flute instrument in the Ottoman period westernization process inthe eighteenth century are discussed in a historical framework. The visit to Istanbul of the French flutistBuffardin, who was seen as the first traces of the flute instrument in the Ottoman period in the earlyeighteenth century. The contributions of Italian flutist and band conductor Giuseppe Donizetti, who wasappointed to the head of Muzika-i Hümayun during the time of Mahmud II, and Saffet Atabinen, who wasaccepted as the first Turkish flute virtuoso and orchestra conductor, towards flute training and performancewere investigated. In this context, the universe of the study is the process of westernization in music in theOttoman period, and the sample is composed of two important flutist Giuseppe Donizetti and SaffetAtabinen. It was aimed to determine the works of Giuseppe Donizetti and Saffet Atabinen in thewesternization process and the function of the flute in the Ottoman lands in this context. The study isimportant in terms of contributing to the literature. This study was researched by general scanning methodand carried out in descriptive model based on due diligence.
