Abstract

The concept of sovereignty is a controversial concept that is beingdiscussed daily from ancient Greece. This concept, which is found inmany fields such as nation domination, people's sovereignty, statesovereignty and territorial sovereignty, is handled differently by differentthinkers and different disciplines. In recent years, the structure of theinternational political system, developments in international law andinternational organizations, draws attention to the different points indiscussing the concept of sovereignty. As a result of today'sdevelopments, the absolute management of the escape and theunderstanding of the management are not as 'absolute' as the presentday. All the governments and governments in the world are restricted byunwilling institutions. It is constantly on the agenda that the emerginginternational organizations and the rule of law, the extent to which itinterferes with sovereignty, and whether it limits the sovereignty of states. The United Nations Organization has been involved in this debate fromthe time of its establishment, due to its global structure and itseffectiveness. The importance given to the sovereignty of States and theirdesire to make concessions has resulted in their being shy of membershipin such organizations. After the end of the First World War, the Leagueof Nations and II. The United Nations, which emerged as a result of WorldWar II, made clear statements about sovereignty both in the FoundationTerms and in its different bodies and decisions. As a result of two majorwars, it is very important to eliminate the worry of emerging states ifmany new states are emerging and the number of states in the politicalsystem is thought to increase. For this reason, it is very important howthe sovereignty of the states, which can be described as independence in external relations, is explained in the United Nations Charter and itsdecisions and in which points are emphasized. In this work, the notionof sovereignty will be explained in the historical process and will be triedto be explained within the context of the rules and decisions of the UnitedNations Organization.
