Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı kabızlığı olan çocuklarda annelerin kabızlığı gidermeye yönelik uyguladığı geleneksel uygulamaları belirlemektir. Yöntem: Çalışma evrenini Kasım 2017-Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında Bursa ilinde bir devlet hastanesinde çocuk gastroenteroloji polikliniğine başvuran kabızlık tanısıyla izlenen 1-6 yaş arasındaki çocuklar ve anneleri oluşturdu. Çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 82 çocuk ve anneleri örneklem grubuna alındı. Bulgular: Annelerin %76,8’inin hastaneye başvurmadan önce çocuklarının kabızlığını gidermeye ilişkin bir uygulama kullandığı, %55,6’sının kullanılan uygulamaları faydalı bulduğu belirlendi. Annelerin kabızlığı olan çocukları için en çok kullandıkları uygulamalar zeytinyağı içirme %47,6, erik-kayısı kompostu içirme %22, kayısı yedirme %9,8, incir yedirme %4,9, fitil uygulama %3,7, kefir içirme %2,4, lavman uygulama %2,4 ve diğer uygulamalar %7,2 olarak belirlendi. Sonuç: Anneler kabızlık sorunu olan çocuklarında geleneksel uygulamalara başvurabilmektedir. Hemşireler çocuk sağlığını etkileyen geleneksel uygulamaları bilmeli, bu uygulamalar arasında zararlı olanların ortaya çıkarılması ve yok edilmesinde rol almalıdır.

Abstract

Aim: The purpose of this study is to determine traditional methods applied by mothers of children suffering from constipation to overcome constipation. Methods: Target population of the study consisted of 1-6 year-old children who applied to the pediatric gastroenterology polyclinic in a state hospital in the province of Bursa between November 2017- May 2018 and were followed due to the diagnosis of constipation, and their mothers. 82 children and their mothers were included in the sample group. Results: It was determined that 76,8% of mothers of children had used a method to overcome their children’s constipation before they applied to the hospital and 55,6% found these methods useful. Methods frequently used by mothers against their children’s constipation were found to be; olive oil 47,6%, plum-apricot composte 22%, apricot 9,8%, fig 4,9%, candlewick 3,7%, kefir 2,4%, lavement method 2,4% and other methods 7,2%. Conclusion: Mothers may apply traditional methods for their children’s constipation problem. Nurses should know traditional methods that affect children’s health and destroy the harmful ones among these methods.
