Abstract
One of the factors influencing a leader's speed and effectiveness is the emotional state of the followers. The emotional state of the followers passes through the leader by the emotional contagion, thus having an effect on the leader's speed and effectiveness. In order to test the presence of such state, a questionnaire has been carried out for 86 personnel who work in a public institution operating in the province of Mersin, and the following results have been obtained as a result of the evaluation of the questionnaire data. As a result of the study, it has been found that there is a positive and moderate level of significant relationship between the positive emotions of the followers and the speed and effectiveness of their leaders. Besides, it was determined that there was a negative and moderate significant relationship between the negative emotions of the followers and the effectiveness of their leaders. There was no statistically significant relationship between the negative emotions of the followers and the speed of their leaders.
