Bu makale, kamu ve özel sektör arasındaki farklılıkları açıklamaya yönelik bir çalışmadır. Cevaplar kamu ve özel sektörde faaliyet gösteren 48 işletme yöneticisinden elde edilmiştir. Özellikle, a) iş özelliklerinin boyutları; b) tepe yönetiminin liderlik tarzı; ve c) örgüte bağlılığı algılamada kamu ve özel sektör yöneticileri arasındaki önemli farkları bulmak için hipotezler formüle edildi. Sonuçlar ikinci hipotezi desteklemekte fakat birinci hipotez için kısmı destek sağlarken, üçüncü hipotezi desteklememektedir

Abstract

This paper is an exploratory study that attempts to shed light on differences between the public and private sectors. The responses included 48 managers from a wide spectrum of manufacturing organizations in the two sectors. Specifically, it was hypothesized to find significant differences between pubklic and private managers on: a) perception of all aspects of job characteristics; b) perception of top management leadership style; c) perception of organizational commitment. Results support the second hypothesis but provide only partiail support and no support for the first and third hypotheses respectively.
