Abstract

Hemangiomas are benign vascular tumours and abnormal development of embryonic vasculature is the suspected cause. 60% of these tumours occur in the head and neck. Hemangiomas are classified into three groups; capillary, cavernous and mixt types. Cavernous hemangiomas have been described in the tongue, trapezius muscle, parotid gland, sternocleidomastoid muscle, timpanic membrane and masseter muscle on the head and neck. Although the actual treatment of surgical excision and sclerotherapy- cryotherapy is applied according to the localization of the lesion. Cervical intervertebral foramen extending hemangioma is not found in the literature. Deep cervical fascia medially localized in the neck and C4-C5 intervertebral foramen and vertebral artery extending to the case of cavernous hemangioma literature was presented.
