Abstract
Poor working postures lead to musculoskeletal disorders and decrease worker’s production efficiency. The primary goal of the ergonomics discipline is to improve working and living quality of a worker and so does the productivity. Most companies use ergonomic risk assessment methods and do adjustments to prevent workers to have musculoskeletal disorders. In this study, the ergonomic risk levels of 62 operations in an assembly line of a combi boiler are analyzed by the REBA method, and the average scores of 15 stations are calculated. The analysis shows that that the highest risk stations are Fan Grouping and 3rd Packing Stations. Upon the assessment, some modifications such are proposed to reduce the risk of workers caused by bending and lifting heavy loads. The evaluation of the proposed methods shows that the ergonomic risk levels of all stations in the assembly line are reduced significantly and the discomforts occurred in the musculoskeletal system improved as aimed. As a result of the improvements made, it is expected to reduce the discomforts that may occur in the musculoskeletal system.
