A general view on the budget and budget practices of the companies: A qualitative study for burdur province companies

Özet

Bu çalışmada şirketlerin bütçe ve bütçe uygulamalarına yönelik görüşlerinin ayrıntılı olarak incelenmesiamaçlanmış ve bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada özel durum yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örnekleminiBurdur ili ve ilçelerinde faaliyet gösteren 14 üretim şirketi oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarakmülakatlardan yararlanılmış, mülakatlardan elde edilen veriler betimsel ve içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur.Çalış ma sonucunda şirketlerin bütçe hazırlamanın şirketlere sağladığı faydalara dar bir perspektiften baktıkları,bütçe ve bütçe kontrolü kavramlarını tanımlamada kısmen yeterli bilgiye sahip oldukları ve şirketlerdekikurumsallaşmanın bütçe hazırlanmasında çok önemli bir etken olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the views of the companies on the budget and budget practices indetail. Special case method was used within the scope of this study. The sample group of the study is composedof 14 production companies which are operating in Burdur and its districts. This study utilized interviews tocollect data and data obtained from interviews were tested by content and descriptive analyses. As a result of thestudy, it was concluded that companies partly have enough information on defining the concepts of budgetingand budgetary control and institutionalization is a very important factor for companies to prepare the budget. Itwas found out that companies look at the benefits of preparing the budget for companies from a narrow perspective.
