Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the effect of teaching practice courses on the success of primary school teacher candidates in using teaching methods and techniques in the instruction of mathematics courses. To this end, the study used as a data collection instrument a three-point likert-type scale developed by the researcher. The data were obtained from the senior graduates of the Faculty of Education at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University and counseling teachers in training schools. The study group consisted of 80 prospective classroom teachers of regular education, 75 prospective classroom teachers of evening (second) education, and 35 classroom teachers, who volunteered to complete to the questionnaire. As a conclusion, it could be argued that teaching practice courses did not have a positive effect on the success of teacher trainees and prospective teachers in employing the teaching methods and techniques in Mathematics courses. To improve this negative picture, the teaching practice courses program should be evaluated and improved in all its aspects.
