Abstract
The study was implemented for the purpose of examining the effect of disaster and earthquake prevention educations given by using simulation teaching method in Bursa Disaster Education Center on the success level and the permanence of their knowledge of middle school students. The study was applied to a group of 96 students studying in the 7th grade in a public school in the city center of Bursa in the 2017-2018 academic year. In the study, static group pre test-post test quasi-experimental design was used. Two branches from the study group were selected to the experimental (N=48) group and two branches to the control (N=48) group. The experimental group was given education through the simulator, while the control group was given education through the traditional method (lecture and demonstration). The questionnaire form was applied to both groups before and after the education, 2 weeks after the education and 2 months after the education. For the analysis of the data, "t test" analysis was used for dependent and independent variables. As a result of the study, it has been determined that simulation technique has more effect on students' success levels and permanence of information than traditional method.
