Özet
Roziglitazon (RZG) tip 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) tedavisinde insülin direncini azaltarak etki gösteren önemli bir ajandır. Literatürde RZG'un hepatötoksik olabileceği yönünde yayınlar mevcuttur. Olgumuzda, literatürde rastlamadığımız biçimde cilt bulgulan ve karaciğer (KC) enzimlerinde mikst tip yükselmeyle seyreden hepatotoksisite saptadık. RZG kullanımı sırasında hepatotoksisite açısından dikkatli olunmalı, sık KC enzim takibi yapılmalıdır.
Abstract
Rosiglitazone (RZG) is a new antidiabetic agent, acting by improving insulin resistance in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Several researchers have reported hepatotoxicity of RZG. In our case, we observed RZG related toxicity with skin changes and mixed type hepatic enzyme elevations, which have not been reported before. Patients receiving RZG should have liver enzyme levels monitored earlier and more frequently than initially recommended.
