Aşırı Turizm Kapsamında Trıpadvısor Yorumları Üzerine Nitel Bir İnceleme: Salda Gölü Örneği

(A Qualitative Research on Tripadvisor Reviews in the Scope of Overtourism: A Case Study of Lake Salda)

Özet

Seyahat etmek, yüzyıllar boyunca popüler bir etkinlik olarak görülmüştür ve halen de bu özelliğini korumaktadır. Turizm, dünyadaki en büyük ve en hızlı büyüyen sektörlerden biri olarak sağladığı ekonomik getiriyle beraber birçok soruna da kaynaklık etmektedir. Bu kapsamda gelişen bir kavram olan ‘overtourism’, turizmde meydana gelen aşırılık anlamına gelmektedir. Bir destinasyondaki taşıma kapasitesinin ziyaretçi tarafından aşıldığını ifade eden bu kavram, birçok turistik destinasyonda çevre tahribatına yol açmakta ve yerel halk açısından sorun teşkil etmektedir. Araştırmada son bir yıl içerisinde aşırı turizmin etkisi altında kalmış bir destinasyon olan ve Türkiye’nin Maldivler’i olarak adlandırılan Salda Gölü değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Mevcut araştırma kapsamında turist sayısında meydana gelen artışın sebebi, bu durumun destinasyonda ne gibi sonuçlar doğurduğu ve alınması gereken önlemlerin neler olduğu gibi sorulara cevap bulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak, TripAdvisor seyahat yorum sitesindeki 2014-2019 tarihleri arasındaki kullanıcı yorumları doküman analizine tabi tutulmuş ve analiz sonucunda destinasyonun sürdürülebilirliğine yönelik değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır.

Abstract

Traveling has been seen as a popular activity for centuries and still maintains this feature. Tourism, as one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the world, is a source of many problems with its economic return. “Overtourism”, which is a developing concept in this context, means excessive in tourism. This concept, which indicates that the carrying capacity in a destination is exceeded by the visitor, causes environmental damage in many touristic destinations and poses a problem for the local people. In this study, Lake Salda which is called as Turkey's Maldives that was under the influence of extreme tourism destination in the last year were evaluated. Within the scope of the current research, it has been tried to answer the questions such as the reason for the increase in the number of tourists, what consequences this situation has at the destination and what the actions should be taken. In this research, using the qualitative research method, user comments on the TripAdvisor travel review site between 2014-2019 were analyzed and as a result of the analysis, the evaluations for destination sustainability were made
