Abstract
From past to present, health has been the most basic and most important physiological need of people. Individuals have traveled inside or outside the country in order to be healthy and recover. These trips allowed the development of tourism and the division of tourism into sub-titles. This situation contributed to the use of tourism and health concepts together and to the emergence of the concept of health tourism. In this study, the metaphorical perceptions of Turkish people towards health tourism were examined, and 339 people were reached through the online survey method throughout the country. According to the results of the questionnaire applied, 103 different metaphors were revealed, these metaphors; health tourism as a health perception, health tourism as a treatment perception, health tourism as an economic perception, and health tourism as a destination perception. As a result of the study, it was seen that the metaphorical perceptions of the Turkish people towards health tourism focused on thermal, spa and hair transplantation.
