VOLUNTEER SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY ACTIVITY AS A SERIOUS LEISURE TIME ACTIVITY: THE CASE OF IN AKUT ESKİSEHİR

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı, AKUT grubuna katılanların bu gruba katılma amacını öğrenmek ve katılma amaçlarının ciddi boş zaman olup olmadığını belirlemektir. Sosyal sorumluluk bilinci ve bu bilinçle hareket eden derneklere katılma nedeni bireylerin hayat amaçları doğrultusunda değişmektedir. Çalışmada veri toplama yarı yapılandırılmış mülakatlar ile elde edilmiştir. Eskişehir’de AKUT grubunun gönüllü üyesi olan 16 kişi ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılarak AKUT grubu gönüllülerinin söylemlerindeki en dikkat çeken alıntılara yer verilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, katılımcıların hepsi kendisini gruba ait hissetmektedir. AKUT gönüllüsü olma amaçları insan ve tüm canlı hayatları için yarar sağlama arzusudur. Ayrıca ciddi boş zaman kavramının tanımı doğrultusunda AKUT gönüllülerinin gruptaki geçirdikleri zaman ciddi boş zaman olarak değerlendirilmektedir.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the purpose of the participants of the AKUT group to join this group and to determine whether their purpose of participation is serious leisure time. Social responsibility awareness and the reason for joining associations acting with this awareness change in line with the life goals of individuals. Data collection in the study was obtained through semistructured interviews. In Eskişehir, 16 people who were volunteer members of the AKUT group were interviewed. In the analysis of the data, the most striking quotations in the discourses of the volunteers of the AKUT group were included by using the descriptive analysis technique. According to the results obtained, all of the participants feel that they belong to the group. The purpose of being an AKUT volunteer is the desire to benefit people and all living things. In addition, in line with the definition of the concept of serious leisure, the time spent by AKUT volunteers in the group is considered as serious leisure time.
