Giant colonic volvulus in young a patient: A case report

Özet

Adölosanlarda sigmoid volvulusa bağlı intestinal obstruksiyon oldukça nadirdir. Tanı için karın ağrısı ve barsak tıkanıklığı olan hastalarda yüksek derecede şüphe gerekir. Etyolojide anatomik vatyasyon, kronik kabızlık, nörolojik hastalıklar ve me-gakolon yer alır. Bu olguda ise herhangi bir etyolojik faktöre rastlanmadı. Sigmoid volvulusun tedavisi obstruksiyonun çözümü ve atakların önlenmesi için riskli po-pulasyonun belirlenmesinden oluşur. Biz bu olguda 19 yaşında genç erkek hastada nadir görülen transvers kolon volvulusunu literatür derlemesiyle birlikte sunduk.

Abstract

Intestinal obstruction due to sigmoid volvulus during adolesans is rare. Diagnosis requires a high index of suspicion in a patient who presents with complaints of abdominal pain and evidence of bowel obstruction. Etiologic factors include anatomic variation, chronic constipation, neurologic disease, and megacolon. This case is unusual in that no aetiological factor has been found,Management of sigmoid volvulus involves relief of obstruction and the prevention of recurrent attacks; the outcome depends on the population and selection of patients. We report a rare case of transverse colon volvulus in a nineteen year old boy with a review of the literature.
