Abstract
In this study, a developed method is proposed that provides convergence with using fewer unknowns for plate problems. Improved finite differences scheme for thin plates is provided in a new way which differs from classical finite difference method. For determining new finite difference operator, two different load-deflection systems on the same finite element are considered. The first system consists of given deflected surface domain and load cases of defined infinite plate; load cases for defined infinite plate are calculated from governing differential equation. The second system consists of actual plate and loads on actual plate. The deflected surface on the actual plate on which will finite difference operator will be applied is expressed with Lagrange interpolation polynomial depending on unknown plate deflections. For the actual plate, Lagrange interpolation polynomial has 5x5 /oints and is related to given deflection surface domain of defined infinite plate. Applying Betti 's reciprocal theorem on two different load-deflection systems a new finite difference operator will be defined. This method is applied for rectangular plate bending problems, which have different load cases and boundary conditions. Then, the results of solution by this technique are compared to analytical solutions and other numerical solutions. The results of applications by this method supplied quite high performance.
