Toplu konut alanlarında simgesel performans sorunu

Özet

Bu çalışma, simgelere bağlı olarak oluşan "anlam"ı irdeleyerek, toplu konut alanlarında simgesel performans sorununu irdelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çevrenin özellikleri algılanarak, birer simge halinde kullanıcıda anlam oluşturur. Çok sayıda kullanıcının yaşadığı toplu konut alanlarında, öznel nitelikler taşıyan anlamın belirlenmesini güçleştirmektedir. Yerleşim düzeni, yoğunluk, sahiplenme, mahremiyet, bakım ve güvenlik gibi konular toplu konut alanlarında simgesel performans sorunsalında belirleyici olarak ortaya çıkar. Çalışmada anlamın belirlenmesine yönelik bir model geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. "Hayata geçmeyen her bilginin doğruyla yanlış arasında bir yerde olduğu " düşüncesinden yola çıkarak, model çerçevesinde bir uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Uygulamanın sonuçları, kullanıcının simgelere dayanarak, yapılaşmış çevreyi nasıl anlamlandırdığının ve toplu konut alanlarında anlamı oluşturan simgesel unsurların bilinmesi açısından bulgular sunmaktadır.

Abstract

This study aims at to deal with the symbolic performance problem in the mass housing settlements by considering the "meaning " which appears depending on the symbols of the environment. The percepted characteristic of the environment becomes symbol, which constitutes the user's meanings. Symbol defines the meaning by expressing another thing except itself in user's mind. The user express himself by symbols at his home. Expression of self in the mass housing areas is rather difficult. Because of the meaning of something has subjective characteristics, so that determining the meaning of mass housing areas, where amount of people live are very arduous. Besides this, subjects like order of settlements, density, territory, privacy, well-kept and safety appear to be the determinants in the problem of symbolic performance in mass housing settlements. For this reason, a model has been tried to develop to determine the meanings in housing settlements. "An unconfirmed data is anywhere between true and false" conception is the starting point of the case study which has been realized. The case study concerns the evaluation of environment by its users. The obtained results enable to know the symbolic elements which constitutes the meaning and what user means of the environment. According to the results, it is seen that the symbolic elements of environment affect the user's meanings.
