Özet
Dünyada turizmin dinlenme, eğlenme ve boş zamanları değerlendirme ile bütünleşme gereği ve zorunluluğu-nu belirleyen niteliksel ve kavramsal değişimi, şehirleri de etkilemeye başlamıştır. Şehirler, en önemli turizm kaynaklarıdır ve kendileri başlı başına önemli varış noktalarıdır. Bu yüzden şehirsel turizm, modern şehirsel yönetimin temel parçası haline gelmiştir. Her bir şehirsel turizm alanının kimliğinin birbirinden farklı olma-sı, araştırmacılar ve plancılar için farklı planlama stratejilerinin geliştirileceği anlamına gelmektedir, bunun anlaşılması da plancılar için büyük önem taşımaktadır. İstanbul’un dünyaya tanıtılmasında en etkili araç olacağı varsayılan turizm fonksiyonunun, planlı ve stratejik gelişiminin sağlanmasının gerekliliğini kabul eden çalışma, İstanbul’a gelen uluslararası ziyaretçilerin, İstanbul’un sunduğu çeşitli potansiyeller doğrul-tusunda memnuniyet düzeylerini belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır.
Abstract
The qualities and conceptual changes throughout the world establishing the recreation, entertainment and leisure time usage and integration has begun to influence the cities. Cities are the biggest touristic resources and are themselves among the important destinations. Because of this, the urban tourism has been a fundamental part of the modern urban management. Each urban destination has a different identity, which means that the researchers and planners would develop different planning strategies. This understanding is also important for the planners. This study assumes that the tourism function, considered to be the most efficient means to introduce Istanbul to the rest of the world, should be developed in a planned and strategic manner and intends to analyze the preferences and perceptions of the international visitors and to determine their satisfaction in urban tourism in Istanbul. This study is conducted for Istanbul may be aiding for establishing the urban marketing and planning in a guiding nature for the public and private sector policies. The study assumes that the urban tourism is not only related with the supply and demand of the touristic product and emphasizes the importance of planning for tourism and aims to interpret the findings obtained with an integrative planning concept. Rather than considering tourism as a separate function, it intends to combine urban planning with a touristic dimension.
