Özet

Bu makalenin ana amacı müzik sosyolojisinin dünyadaki ve Türkiyedeki yerive gelişimini incelemektir. Öncelikle, dünyada müzik sosyolojisinin tarihsel gelişimiile alanın kapsamı ve sınırları belirtilerek, Türkiyede modernleşme süreci ile imlenenmüzik sosyolojisi alanının doğuşu, alanın belirginleşmesindeki toplumsal arka planve erken dönem çalışmalar analiz edilmiştir. Kentleşme, göç, küreselleşme gibi sosyo- lojik olgular ile kültür endüstrileri ve yeni iletişim teknolojilerinin, müziğin toplum- sal kullanımını hangi açılardan dönüştürdüğünün incelendiği makalede, daha sonramüziğin üretimi, alımlanması ve tüketiminin karmaşık yapısının sosyolojiye hangiaçılardan konu olduğu araştırılmıştır. Belirtilen çerçevede, Türkiyede müzik sosyo- lojisi alanında ortaya konulan eserlerin, çalışılan alanların genel değerlendirilmesi vegüncel tartışmaların ortaya konulması hedeflenmiştir. Bu anlamda, makale müziğintoplumsal bileşenlerini ve işlevlerini incelerken, müzik sosyolojisi tarihini gün ışığınaçıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to explore the position and the deve- lopment of sociology of music in the world and in Turkey. To begin with, followingan evaluation of the historical development, the content and the limitations of thisfield, the article analyzes the emergence of sociology of music in Turkey marked bythe modernization process, its social background and the early works. Examining theways in which many social phenomena such as urbanization, migration, globalizationalong with culture industries and new communication technologies altered the socialuses of music, the article further checks up on the means through which the comp- lex structure of the production, reception and consumption of music is subjected tosociological analysis. Within this framework, this article aims to put forth the majorworks within sociology of music, an overview of the areas of study as well as the cur- rent issues and debates in Turkey. In this sense, this article intends to go through thesocial components and functions of music while shedding light onto the history ofsociology of music.
