Özet
Bu çalışmada, elektroansefalogramdaki (EEG) negatif ve pozitif yavaş kortikal potansiyel (YKP) kaymalarının bilişsel potansiyeller üzerine olan etkileri araştırıldı. Negatif YKP kaymaları sırasında P300 genliği anlamlı olarak daha büyük bulundu. Bunun yanısıra, YKP kaymaları P200 ve P300 genliklerinin topografısi üzerine anlamlı etki gösteriyordu. Elde edilen bulgular, uyanıklık düzeyi (arousal level) ile ilişkili olduğu kabul edilen YKP kaymalarının P300 tipi bilişsel olaya ilişkin potansiyeller (OİP) yanıtlarının genliklerini anlamlı derecede etkilediğini ve beynin bilişsel işlevlerini modüle ettiğini göstermektedir.
Abstract
Effects of slow cortical potential shifts on cognitive potentials. In this study, effects of the negative and positive slow cortical potential (SCP) shifts of the electroencephalogram (EEG) on the cognitive potentials were investigated. The P300 amplitude was significantly larger during negative SCP shifts. Furthermore, the SCP shifts induced significant topographical changes on P200 and P300 amplitudes. The results show that the SCP shifts, which are considered to be correlated with the arousal level, induce significant amplitude changes on cognitive ERP responses of P300 type and modulate cognitive processes of the brain.
