Özet
Proteinlerin rol oynadığı çeşitli hücresel olaylar proteinlerin oksidatif modifikasyonundan et¬kilenir. Hipertiroidizmde oksidatif stresin arttığı bildirilmektedir. Hipertiroidi hastalarında ola¬sı oksidatif protein hasarını plazma proteinlerinde araştırmak amacı ile, 20 hipertiroidi hastası ve 20 ötiroid kontrolde kolorimetrik yöntemlerle plazma oksidatif protein hasar parametreleri¬ni inceledik. Hipertiroidi hastalarının plazma protein karbonil düzeyleri kontrol grubuna göre , anlamlı derecede yüksekti. Diğer taraftan, hipertiroidi hastaları ile kontrol grubu arasında pro¬tein tiol, total tiol, nonprotein tioİ, .âoymamiş demir bağlama kapasitesi düzeyleri bakımından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark Saptanmadı. Hipertiroidi hastalarının plazma lipid hidrope-roksid düzeyleri kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı derecede yüksek, eritrosit glutatyon düzeyleri ise anlamlı derecede düşüktü. Sonuç olarak, hipertiroidi hastalarında plazma oksidatif protein hasarının artmış olduğunu saptadık.
Abstract
Plasma oxidative protein damage in hyperthyroid patients. Various cellular processes in which proteins take part are affected by oxidative modifications. Oxidative stress has been re¬ported to be increased in hyperthyroidism. We determined plasma oxidative protein damage parameters by colorimetric methods in 20 hyperthyroid patients and in 20 euthyroid controls in order to investigate oxidative protein damage in plasma proteins in hyperthyroidism. Plas¬ma protein carbonyl levels of hyperthyroid patients were significantly increased compared to the controls. On the other hand, plasma protein thiol, total thiol, nonprotein thiol, unsaturated iron binding capacity levels of hyperthyroid patients were not significantly different from tho¬se of the controls. In hyperthyroid patients, plasma lipid hydroperoxide levels were signifi¬cantly increased, and erythrocyte glutathione levels were significantly decreased compared to the control group. In conclusion, we found that plasma oxidative protein damage was increa¬sed in hyperthyroid patients.
