Özet

Amaç: Bu çalışma, trakeostomili hastaların beden imajındaki değişiklikleri incelemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı bir çalışma olarak planlandı. Yöntem: Çalışmanın örneklemini Temmuz 2004- Temmuz 2006 tarihleri arasında bir Üniversite Hastanesinin Kulak Burun Boğaz Kliniği’nde yatan larinks kanseri tanısı konan 30 trakeostomili hasta oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında “Hasta Tanıtım Formu” ve “Beden imajı Ölçeği (BiÖ)” kullanıldı. Beden imajı Ölçeği hastalara trakeostomi açıldıktan sonraki 3., 15. ve 30. günlerde uygulandı. Bulgular: Hastaların %63.3’ünün 40-64 yaş grubunda, %93.3’ünün erkek, %86.7’sinin evli olduğu, %46.7’ünün şehirde yaşadığı saptanmıştır. Hastaların trakeostomi açıldıktan sonraki 3., 15. ve 30. günlerdeki beden imajlarındaki değişiklikler incelendiğinde beden imajı puan ortalamalarında 3. güne göre 15. ve 30. günlerde artma olduğu (p0.05). Sonuç: Çalışma sonucunda trakeostomili hastaların beden imajının 3. güne oranla 15 ve 30. günlerde olumlu yönde değiştiği saptandı.

Abstract

Purpose: This research was planned as a descriptive study to examine body image alterations of patients with tracheostomy. Method: The sample of the study consisted of 30 patients with the diagnosis of larynx cancer in the Ear Nose Throat clinic of a university hospital between July 2004 and July 2006. The research data were collected using “patient information form” and the “Body Image scale”. Body Image Scale was measured on the third, fifteenth and thirteenth days after tracheostomy. Results: It was found that 63.3% of patients were 40-64 years of age, 93.3% of patients were men, 86.7% of patients were married and 46.7% of them were living in town.
