Özet

Amiloid guatr tiroid gland içerisinde amiloid materyalin tiroid glandı klinik olarak belirgin hale getirecek şekilde birikmesi olarak tanımlanır. Tiroid glandın tutulumu sistemik amiolidoizde mikroskopik olarak %50-80 oranında görülse de sadece tiroid glandın tutulduğu olgu sayısı nadirdir. Bu olguda bası semptomları nedeniyle total tiroidektomi yapılan ve operasyon sonrası tiroid glandda diffüz amiloid birikiminin tespit edildiği, sistemik amiloidozis bulgularının saptanmadığı bir olguyu sunduk.

Abstract

Amyloid goiter is defined as thyroid gland enlargement due to deposition of amyloid material. Although microscopic thyroid involvement in systemic amyloidosis is 50%-80%, isolated thyroid gland amyloidosis is very rare. We present a case who underwent thyroidectomy because of pressure symptoms and was histopathologically diagnosed as diffuse amyloid deposition without findings of systemic amyloidosis.
