Ibadhi legists method of transfering and criticizing hadiths in the 4th hijri century

Abstract

The 4th hijri century has witnessed a number of studies on the fiqh ofIbadhiya. Abu al Hasan al-Busawi s al-Mo tabar are twoof the mostimportant boks presented in this field. But the far most significant one isibn al Barakah s Kitab al Jamiwhich came into prominence with its richcontent, its orderliness and its rich legitimate evidences. This accountrepresents a complete example of early Ibadhis studies on fiqh and usul. In this article we handle another dimension of Ibadhiya s legisletionmethod which consisted of two stages: transfering hadiths and criticizingthem (al-riwayah wa al naqd). Firstly we are going to summarize ibnBaraka s life and his Works and then we handle his method on transferinghadiths and criticizing them.
