Abstract

Sufism is a branch of science that aims to reach an individual's faith and morality through the manifestation of the self and the purity of the soul. In this process, in which the stages of spiritual development are recorded, which is called Sayr u Sulūk (Wandering on the Path), there are a number of methods that help the individual's movement (Recollection), murāqaba (contemplation), Khalwat (solitude) are some of these elements. The elements mentioned in this article are focused on the dhikr and the subject of dhikr in the case of Abd al-Wahhâb as-Sha'rânî (death: 973/1565) is examined. From the Sha'rânî’s perspective, it is seen that dhikr is an important factor in helping to realize the transformation of personality in the person. The first effect of dhikr is that it develops a sense of self-control in the person. The second effect is the formation of ikhlas, compassion and patience. The last and most important effect is that it lifts the curtains from one's eyes and leads to the counsel ingenuization of al-Haqq (the Real). Thus, morality can be achieved with the morality of God.
