Abstract

Herpes simplex virus-1 and -2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2) IgG-IgM were investigated with ELISA in 27 cases (15 homosexuals and 12 transsexuals). All of cases were positive for HSV-1 and 2 IgG. In six cases, HSV-1 IgM and in seven cases HSV-2 IgM were found positive. Although six of them were found positive for both HSV-1 IgM and HSV-2 IgM, in one case HSV-1 IgM was negative, but HSV-2 IgM was positive. It is'concluded that HSV infection is an important risk for transsexuals and
