Özet
Herpes zoster, primer olarak suçiçeği infeksiyonuna neden olan varicella zoster virüsünün reaktivasyonu ile gelişen bir hastalık tablosudur. Herpes zoster çocukluk döneminde seyrek görülmektedir. Herpes zoster'in bu dönemde görülmesi, virusla intrauterin dönemde karşılaşılması veya primer varicella infeksiyonunun yaşamın ilk yılında geçirilmesi sonucudur. Bu yazıda, daha önce su çiçeği geçirme öyküsü bulunmayan iki yaş altı aylık bir olgu sunulmuştur.
Abstract
Herpes zoster is the reactivated form of varicella-zoster virus that causes varicella (chickenpox). It is a rare entity in childhood. In some of these cases a history of maternal varicella during pregnancy can be elicited and one would assume that in these instances the first exposure to varicella-zoster virus was in utero. In this paper two and a half year-old with herpes zoster who has had no history of chickenpox is presented.
