Özet
Bu çalışma Escherichia coli'de fenotipik özellikler ile biyolojik özellikler arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Üriner sistem infeksiyonu etkeni olarak yedi ayrı hastadan izole edilen mükoit ve mükoit olmayan E. Coli çiftleri; biyokimyasal özellikler, siderofor üretimi, serum direnci, hemaglütinasyon tipleri ve antibiyotiklere duyarlılıkları açısından karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmişlerdir. Fenotip ile incelenen diğer özellikler arasında anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmamıştır.
Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the relation between phenotypes and biological properties of Escherichia coli. The mucoid and non-mucoid E. coli strains isolated from urine specimens of seven patients with urinary tract infection were examined for their biochemical and biological properties such as siderophore production, resistance to serum bactericidal activity, slime production, hemagglutination types and for their susceptibility to antimicrobial agents. No relationship was found between phenotype and other features.
