Abstract
Lyme disease has a widespread distribution in the world. Because of non-specific clinical signs and symptoms, culture and serologic tests are performed for accurate diagnosis of the disease. Serologic tests, easy to perform, are used for detection of endemic areas. In this study, anti-Borrelia burgdorferi IgM and IgG antibodies were investigated with ELISA in people with history of tick bite and in controls without tick bite in the Isparta Region. Detailed histories related to Lyme disease were inquired, together with thorough physical examination. The results showed IgG seropositivity in 14 of 82 cases with history of tick bite (17.0%). In the control group, IgG seropositivity was detected in only one of the 42 cases (2.3%) (p
