Abstract
Two cases of brucellosis with thyroid gland involvement are presented in this report. Diagnosis of thyroiditis was established by local findings on thyroid glands, ultrasound and radioctive iodine uptake. Brucellosis was diagnosed according to serological tests in the first case, positive blood culture and cytopathological examination in the second one. Fever response developed earlier (14 versus 7 days) in the second case who was treated with a combination of three antibiotics (streptomycine, doxcycline and co-trimoxazole) when compared to the first case (streptomycine, doxycycline).
